Everything you need to know about our manual transmission lessons
Our instructors teach in parking lots or memorial parks where there's plenty of space and almost no moving cars. This lets us safely cover the basics. Once we match you with an instructor nearby, they'll contact you to agree on a specific location.
Students must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and have vehicle insurance to book a lesson. No prior experience with manual transmission is required.
Yes, instructors use their own cars for lessons. Each car is limited to no more than 250 horsepower for consistency and safety.
For Levels 1 and 2, a realistic goal is becoming competent enough to start practicing on your own—though you may not feel fully comfortable with a stick shift just yet. Our instructors focus on giving you the foundation to practice safely and build your skills independently.
We're still designing a safe and effective way to offer on-road instruction for both our customers and instructors. We hope to launch this level soon!
As of 2025, we currently offer lessons only in the DMV area. We plan to expand to other regions in the future.
